Chevy

Hi,

I have a 2013 Chevy Equinox and I got it in August (i missed the 5 year warranty by days...)

Whenever I'm trying to go up a hill - and really use engine (1500-200rpms) the whole Car Vibrates.

It's so weird... this is the only time it does it.

The first thing to do is have the computer scanned for stored codes. It sounds like a misfire problem.

they scanned Friday and had a transmission update, brake update and body update

they did those for $225 and it didn't fix the problem :(

So, you are saying that they found no codes at all before they started messing with updates.

Hi no, no, they found these 3 error codes and THEN did the Software updates to try and fix them.... didn't help though...

any time the car is sitting between 1000-2000 rpms, it vibrates. what could this be??

when I put it in Manual and shift gears myself, there's no vibrating at all... they mentioned it could be the torque converter and clutch skipping??

I'd appreciate any help, I am good with computers, not cars!!

So, what were the code numbers? That was the whole goal here not messing with a trans that may not have had any issues.

Re: Help - 2013 Chevy Equinox Vibrating at 1500-2000 going up hill Sign In

Now that I realize what is going on -- I think they just saw Software Updates available for the PCM, EBCM, and BCM... and figured if they downloaded them, i was up to date and it will solve it, this is not a dealership....

So they should have gotten ACTUAL error codes... like these ???

P0750-P0770:
Solenoid failure can prevent the flow of transmission fluid into the transmission’s hydraulics and cause a gear not to shift properly. If this occurs, a code between P0750 and P0770 will be produced, depending on the gear affected. These codes are produced in automobiles with an automatic transmission.

now I'm ticked. I should go back and make them show me the ACTUAL ERROR CODES... I was too trusting...

should I take it to a dealer and find out the codes??? cause the Software Updates didn't solve the Problem....

does anyone know a good garage near Gloucester Massachusetts??

Thx so much for your help!! I thought they got the error codes and then fixed them accordingly. When I talked to the guy he couldn't name the codes just the updates! I am soon new at this... I feel like an idiot.

They erased them when they updated so they may or may not have reset again.

If you are getting solenoid codes, that is very telling but we need to be more specific.

If that turns out to be the case I will move this question to the trans section as we have a trans expert there.

Thanks for all your help Hammer - I just googled that transmission code # about the solenoid... i don't actually have that problem

that stinks. so if they updated my software, and I brought my car to a dealer, the actual error codes have been erased due to the software update they performed???

this is making me really upset...... is there a way to recover the error codes at all do you think??

Not if they have been cleared but if the issue is still there it should set new ones soon when you drive it.

On just that I'm from Mazzatwoshoots forever. Probably get away from Cape Ann (Gloucester/Rockport) look into NH, Lowell + Lawrence has a lot going on not as forgive me snooty.
Best of best bets I could muster now would be in Southborough a bit far for you.
If you've got those codes the rest should be easier for a transmission specific tech we all get it just a specialty part of auto repair takes room and time most busy shops doing everything wouldn't waste the space if already busy just can't. It's way over a MILLION bucks a bay to be new and legal all around only so many older ones hung on can stay till it changes hands and is another DUNKIN' Donuts as you must know we go into a total panic if you can't see one ahead and one in the rear view both at the same time - LMAO.
