Sign In I have a 97 Chevy P30 Step Van with the 6.2L Diesel. I have pressure in the cooling system and was loosing coolant for a while, then the radiator sprung a leak. I don't have coolant in my oil or oil in my coolant and I'm not blowing white smoke. The problem started after I changed out the water pump. My mechanic says its the head gaskets, but I'm not getting definitive reasons, and $4,000 is a lot of money to throw at a hypothesis. Sign In Yes, it is loosing coolant. At first it was loosing coolant, but not leaking. Then the radiator sprung a leak.
