Frustrated and at the end of my rope Sign In

My truck is a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 2wd with the 4.3l v6. I just replaced the transmission it ran beautifully before I changed the transmission. Now it is running a bit rough and when you put it in gear and step on the gas it does nothing. I also replaced the plugs, cap, wires and rotor because it said I had a multiple cylinder misfire. I have checked for vacuum leaks and there are none. I have double and triple checked all the electrical connections. When I step on the gas it basically does nothing and then suddenly it will kick in, by nothing I mean it does not accelerate and the rpm's do not go up. Once I can get it going it does go through the gears nicely. At this point I have done everything I can think of I am hoping you can help.

Can you find out what the fuel pressure is when it won't rev up? Are there any other codes besides the P0300? If so what are the numbers? Have you checked for an exhaust restriction? Back pressure gauge test can tell you if you have a restriction going on.

Did you check for stored trouble codes? If not do so.

Did you move or remove the distributor?

Re: Frustrated and at the end of my rope Sign In

i did have a couple other codes BUT i ruled them out as the root of the problem because i had them before i did the transmission job....i have right bank O2 sensor code and Mass Air flow Sensor code...But like i said i had those codes before i swapped out the transmission and she ran like a champ...also i just got done putting a code reader on it again and instead of saying multiple cylinder misfire it now says engine misfire detected..i did not remove the distributor

1 other thing i forgot to mention...i talked to a mechanic at a local shop (not a dealership) and he said that since i changed the transmission i probably need to get the computer reprogrammed.....i found this highly unprobable and more of an attempt to get me to spend money

 A 2 step plan -
1) you need to SCAN for codes, use a capable scanner. Able to read ALL codes esp manufactures specific.
2) Did you use same transmission - ie- 4L60E replaced with a 4L60E?

A WAG - pinched harness at back of engine during trans install.

yes i used the same transmission.....the scanner i used is able to read all the codes...wiring harness is not pinched at back of engine

Re: Frustrated and at the end of my rope Sign In

lets try some fast easy testing
post the codes you are now seeing.
With scanner look at - TPS, MAF, and MAP voltages... Maybe looking at FT's would help eliminate fuel pressure testing...
I reread your 1st post and am not sure of issue - when you press accelerator "step on gas" it does nothing then will kick in - the ENGINE does nothing or the trans does nothing and what kicks in?
Is there 5v at TPS at MAP?

Re: Frustrated and at the end of my rope Sign In

the engine does nothing...i am not sure of the code numbers as my neighbor is the one that pulled the codes...he wrote down what the codes were but not the numbers Unimpressed when i step on he gas it doesn't really respond.... the truck will creep up to 25 or 30 and then it is like flipping a light switch

Re: Frustrated and at the end of my rope Sign In

OK, do not want to scan, won't check sensor voltages, back pressure test is dismissed, no way its a damaged or pinched wire, and fuel pressure testing remains unchecked.
NO PROBLEM Its flooding the engine is over fueling and only starts to clear at speed - I guess.
