Sign In Hello everyone.I have a nissan 240sx 1991 DOHC. it was working fine untill something happend and it went very bad, lost lots of power. so i took it to a pro shop they said i need a new cylinder head (apparentley there was a crack and one of the valves were leaking) and it will be expensive to put it. so i just bought a rebuilt head myself and gave it to one of the independentt mechanics to put it on for a cheaper price. so ok he puts it on and from there new problems start: after the head, needed new fuel injectors, new timing kit(everything), replace MAFS, replace some belts, replaced fuel regulator. now after all of this plus labor = $1400 after all of this the car doesnt' not want to work right, its sputters very bad when accelerating and there is not power at all(it's worse then ever) and alot of times it dies when it's ideling, its like when one of thethe spark plug wires is unplugged symptom. we checked the timing and it was fine. i dont know what else to do i spent so much money on this. new engine swap? or should i keep trying to fix it?? appreciate anyone's help Tom Greenleaf Ultimate Carjunky / Moderator Aug 27, 2005, 7:24 PM Post #2 of 3 (3562 views) Re: Engine sputters and stalls. my car is killing me!! Sign In Arggh!! Before you give up get another opinion. If a bunch of new problems happened right after having something fixed something is wrong!! It could be bad luck but sounds more like incompetence. When you can pay for repairs by credit card and then you have a strong right for dispute. Hard to diagnose this without the car on line but wish you luck and fairness.
