I have a '95 T100 with an OEM v6 that has about 80k miles on it. Things have been great but the other day I was hit with a multitude of problems seemingly all at once.

It started when I noticed my oil pressure gauge was all the way to low and my temperature gauge was maxed out. I changed the oil added some more coolant and drove it home. Half way home I noticed my oil pressure was still 0, my temperature was climbing back to red, and now my battery gauge was pushing 18. When I got home I popped the hood and found my coolant boiling.

Any idea what the hell happened?? 2 days ago this truck was running like a dream and suddenly everything is overheating and the battery is over charging

That's the fastest way i know to buy a new engine.

Is it losing coolant?
Is the fan working properly?
Have you manually tested the oil pressure?
Did you get all the air out of the cooling system when you topped it off?

I know it was risky but I was only about 4 miles from home.

The fan is fine and it's holding coolant. I haven't done a manual pressure test yet and I haven't burped the system yet, those next on my to-do list.

Would air in the system lead to the battery overcharging? I've never experienced this before and it just seemed odd the battery started acting up as soon as the overheating issue started.

You have no idea how many times I have been told that just as I was handing them a bill for over $5,000. The tow truck sure would have been a whole lot cheaper.

At this point you haven't even confirmed that it actually is overcharging and not a gauge problem.

You need to do a lot more testing and a lot less driving.
