I really need help with this one.
I've got a VW Polo 1.2 9N 2003 and recently it's been having idle problems. Previously, I needed to bring up the revs a bit to warm it up and stop it from stalling. However, in attempting to fix this, I found a large split in an air hose and immediately replaced it - which has now made the problem worse?! Now, when I start the car, the rpm drops straight down to 0 without even juddering, and warming it up doesn't help either.
I've had a few fault codes with this one, one of which was an air leak (which I've fixed), but now this fault code develops within minutes of starting the car:
16490 - Manifold / Barometric Pressure Sensor (G71) / (F96): Implausible Signal
I've checked, and can't see any loose wires, or dislodged components. I just don't understand how fixing an air leak can make a problem worse?

That's a MAP sensor code. Are you sure you didn't knock any plugs of vacuum hoses off?
