My em missions light will not go off, it's been to a garage twice already and they have managed to switch it off but then it's back on after 50 miles. It's had a new ecu, I've changed the air filter checked the fuses, I think it maybe the egr valve, of so I do I check this is the problem without spending anymore money? What else could it be? How do I get the light to go off? The garage has said the car is in full working order.

Well if it keeps coming back it's not in full working order. Might have been for a quick test but light coming back on mean the problem is not resolved. Guessing costs and wastes money.
Can you get a code reading on this vehicle not sold in the US to guide you or a mechanic to the source problem?
