Distributor Problem

Hi, I have a 1988 suburban with a 350 cui. engine. The old motor had a knock so I took it out and put a good 350 in it's place. The problem I have is, the old motor had fuel-injection so I had to change the intake manifold. There isn't a vaccume advance so how do I place the distributor back in for timing?

The original engine was throttle body injected and had a HEI . That style of HEI didn't have a vacuum advance because it had computer control timing. If you converted this to a carb, your going to have to change the distributor to the older style HEI with the coil mounted on top and vacuum advanced servo. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Out of curiousity, why did you take the TBI system out instead of installing it on your new engine?
