Hi guys, Well it's just not our week. Now we're replacing a fuel pump in my brothers car. We are not much at mechanics but we are willing. We the last of our families leniage and he and i are thick as thieves. So we have already taken out the gas tank, and replaced the pump to the point of mounting it back into the tank. It is a pain trying to get the lock back on while it's under the car. Can we disconnect the lines going into the tank and take it in the garage where there is heat and we're not under the car fighting it? Any tips are a blessing on us old guys!

Sure you can and you actually should have. Haviing lines attached while you are trying to change a pump will just lead to damage of the lines.
