Ok - I've got a weird one for you. It's a 96 Jeep Cherokee Classic, V-6, Automatic, 4 wheel drive. This started 3-4 years ago, one summer. It started hesitating when you started from a dead stop, like it wasn't getting gas or had a vapor lock. After it built up a few RPMs, it was fine. Had the injectors cleaned, got a new gas cap. Was a little better for a couple of weeks. I noticed it hesitated worse when you took a left turn from a stop (almost dying); right turns had much less & sometimes no hesitation. Had one mechanic change the fuel pump. Better for a couple of weeks, then back to the same thing. Fall comes with cooler temps - it stops- no hesitation - ever!! Last summer, I had a mechanic tell me it wasn't the fuel system, but electrical. He "jiggled" some harness wires under the hood, looking for loose connections. Found none, but when he drove it after doing that - no hesitation. So last summer I did the same thing - he was right, but we haven't been able to isolate it. Why won't it hesitate in the winter and why is it worse when you take a left turn (which is suicidal)? Temps just started getting close to 80 here, and it's back again. I really don't want to have my mechanic just start changing things out until we "find" the problem. Oh yeah, the AC does not have to be on for it to do this, so it is not AC related. Other than this - the Jeep has been a dream!

All can suggest is if you really think the problem is in the wiring harness is open it up and check every an any connection, splice or possible pinched, chaffed wire in there.
Heat changes the resistance value of an electrical circuit and if this is a poor connection the warmer temps may just be pushing this high resistance (whatever) over the edge of where it can function.
As for the turning left thing; again if it’s a connection problem; the torsional twist of the body and suspension maybe pulling and opening up this connection.
Good luck with this because it sounds like it’s going to be a search and rescue type of job that you may have to give your technician a free hand to find the problem.
I’ll have a look through the service bulletins that are available to me; if I find anything that may deal with this I’ll post back.

 Found the problem!! - with the help of a good mechanical shop. After searching all possibilities, it was the computer itself that had to be replaced. They replaced a couple of sensors - one transmission and another O2 - no luck. They credited me the cost of these when they discovered it was the computer.

Hi!
I have the same exact problem with my 95. Did your stall while doing 70MPH down the highway? mine stalls while driving, at a light, making left turns, and even right turns. But like you the left turns are suicidal.
I bought the jeep last June, started stalling in July, once the cooler weather came and winter no problems. Starting in April the problem started up again and the past few days with the temps hitting 90+ on Long Island the jeep is stalling several times a day. Our mechanic can't figure it out. I was thinking of replacing the fuel pump, because I figured it has to be that or the fuel injectors.
I was so happy to see another jeep owner with the same problem. I wonder if this problem is common in the jeeps.
How much does it cost to replace the computer?
