will start when cold and runs smooth, idles at least for and hour. However when driving it may go all day or 20feet. It will do a 2 secound sputter and die- not stall- die. The entire accessories circuit cuts out. At first I changed the pressure regulator as it smelt like flooding, then the filter, then the EFI relay. It was then, while doing a pump jump test at the diagnostic connector that I found there was no power. If the car is turned off then on again it resets the power to this connector. The relay and pump now operate but the engine will not start, I was able to exchage the distributor to test this, but the same results. If the engine sits for an hour, or overnight it will restart but the same end result. There is no reference RPM or speed or time frame constant to help narrow this down. Inspected for possible shorts. perplexed needs help?

It turns out I was a little to hasty in my search of a poor connection. It turned out to be a poor wire connection in the distibutor wire loom. In my frustration I did not even inspect this possiblity before the distributor was changed. It just goes to show you, a little more basic troubleshooting instead of plug and play would have saved me some money.
