So I own a 2010 Mustang v6 (4.0L) and it has about 101k miles and I recently had problems with the engine misfiring so I took it to a mechanic and they resurfaced the heads and replaced the head gaskets, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and some other stuff. So the car still feels like it's misfiring, my car is using more gas, the car sounds louder and I head some pops sometimes, and it's vibrating. I told my mechanic this and he said it should stop after driving it for a while (like a month or two). Is he just lying to me, or do I actually need drive it a bit for it to break in? I've had two people that know a bit about cars (not mechanics) tell me it should just be fixed and shouldn't be happening anymore so I'm just going here for a sure answer from a mechanic.

Bull and OMG BULL!
Now what? It should be fine or maybe exhaust something wrong shop should have looked anyway. What do you want to do apparently a 2 month "break-in" means not much is happening there that if true (not) would cause other problems with your complaint.

Can you get code readings somewhere else maybe free even some outlets? Pay but just that see what it says post results not a diagnosis.

Do check coolant level and oil yourself not relying on warnings now no telling what's working or not.

I'm speechless for me for now see what another has to say I don't have much good to say about that job,

It's worse - IT'S NOT FIXED YET AND NOW THIS! What a mess that's totally uncalled for anyone close to a mechanic knows no break in that's the bull up front you know they won't do a thing for you or a good guess? Tom
