Any Honda 3.5 engine pros out there?
I have a 2008 that started with a engine knock that seemed to come and go
When idling...sounded like the valves were raddling jus before the trans would shift...now it sounds like the engine is locking up

The 3.5's have a factory problem with the rocker arm bridge loosening up. When this happens it does sound close to what you are describing. Listen to the noise carefully to find out where it is coming from. If it sounds like it is coming from under the valve covers then that is very likely your problem. Pull both the valve covers and re-torque the rocker arm bridges. I think the updated torque is 20 ftlbs. Look it up, there should be lots of info out there on this issue.
