2006 Toyota Corolla LE 202,000 miles Driving to work a few weeks ago, my car died on the highway and would not start again. I only changed the spark plugs once and never changed the fuel filter. I thought I had a clogged fuel filter and the spark plugs needed to be changed. I also added some fuel system cleaner to fuel. I changed the spark plugs and added the fuel system cleaner first. The car would start but ran rough. I had to order the fuel pump/filter. A week later received the part and changed the fuel pump and filter. Car would not start again. I borrowed a code reader and got two codes. P0353 and P0354. Which is ignition coil C primary/secondary malfunction and ignition coil D primary/secondary malfunction. I checked for fire with each plug. Each spark plug had an orange spark. Any help with getting this car running again.

You're having problems with the coils in cylinders 3 and 4. I would try swapping them with cylinders 1 and 2 and clear the codes to see what resets. Make sure those codes weren't because someone was unplugging coils trying to diagnose the problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
