2005 Santa Fe 2.4l serious lack of power Sign In

2005 Santa Fe suffering from lack of power. Very sluggish.
Exhaust pipe after catalytic converter overheats bright red after 5 mins of use. I think the fuel mixture is too lean. No error codes. plugs, coils and fuel filter changed. catalytic converter checked not blocked. Any suggestions

Check engine light on? Check for stored codes.

Did this problem start after you did your tune up?

There are two cats on this vehicle. One is attached to the exhaust manifold and the other is in the intermediate pipe. How did you check the exhaust system for excessive back pressure?

The cat converters were removed and inspected for blockage.

Problem started before tune-up

Not seeing a check engine light doesn't automatically mean there will be no codes stored in memory.

Pipe turning red isn't going to be caused from a lean condition.

Was the timing belt done recently?
Does the engine feel like it is misfiring?

Looking at the catalyst for a restriction can be kind of iffy. I've seen catalyst substrates that looked good on the front and rear, but were blocked. You really need to measure the exhaust back pressure before the catalyst to be sure.
