2003 Venture bucking when going over 60 mph Sign In

I have a 2003 Chevy Venture and it started bucking while I was traveling on I-95 at 70 mph. It would continue intermittently but only at speeds over 55. I added gumout and heat water remover because I had fueled up about an hour before this happened. Then I had the fuel filter replaced today. It was running smoother but then started again but not as bad as before. No codes come up when they checked it on Sat to see if anything was wrong. On vacation and would prefer to get it done at home if it is safe to drive at 55.

you used a scanner to check for codes?
I ask because not all readers will read all codes.

It happened AFTER fill up- is it safe to ASSUME that that fuel is gone and time for a refuel ?

Nothing I can recommend for a quick look -
does the use of AC have any effect?
hills - going up make a difference?
you are NOT towing?
around town - select 2nd and see if the issues return with the higher RPMs.

If you get it hooked up to a professional scan tool you should be able to get misfire data from it in mode 6. You probably have a coil going out but you will have to determine which cylinders. You didn't post your mileage but if it's over 70K, it's time for plugs too.

thanks for the feedback. No difference if using a/c and have 132,000 miles on it.
not sure which scanner he used but plugged it in and kept it plugged in as he took it out on the road. Even had it plugged in while it was bucking and no codes came up.

You're not looking for codes, maybe pending codes. You're looking at misfire tracking data.
