2003 Ford taurus...stumbles on take off...please read Sign In

I have a 2003 ford Taurus, has a 3.0 with about 108,000 miles. The car stumbles at take off and does it really bad with the air on.Has had plugs, wires, crank sensor and fuel filter all replaced w/in the last 20,000 miles.Car doesn't throw any codes...and has been at the dealer for the last week and they seem to be dumb-founded as I am.Bought it new, always maintained....shows multi misfires on 1,3,5 cyc only.Has great compression and other than the bad stumble, runs down the road well.Doesnt ALWAYS stumble during take off,but does it more than not.We are all scratching our heads....any clues....I would have thought the dealer would have found something,but....its been driven by them several times...but they don't have a clue, and the cost is starting to rack up at 98 dollars per hour. Thanks for the read and I hope someone has the answer

Dealer doesn't have a clue? There is obviously more to this story than you are stating. Dealers don't just get "stuck" if the problem is actually present.

the problem is indeed real,as much as I wish it wasn't.The car is at dealer number 2 .....believe me...I don't like getting up at 2am to take the wife to work....and the dealer says....well,we just don't know......

The only way you are going to get that answer is if the problem cannot be reproduced in the shop and if that is the case, you'll get the same answer from everyone. You can't fix what isn't broken and it isn't broken when they are testing it.

I have also worked on cars for 30 plus yrs,I would like to think that Im not to stupid......and to answer you.the problem was reproduced several times in front of the service manager by the service writer,as I was also there. All Im trying to do is to pick others brains as to the problem...I would be more than happy to give you the dealers name,as they have been in business for right at 100 yrs here where I live.Im just sayin.....

Like HT said it must do it and apparently will in front of "Service Writer" not necessarily a qualified tech. As for a tech and show him/her just what it does.

Independent shops can be the right choice to all depending on your area,
