2000 ford ranger 3.0 engine fast idle.

starts easy but has a miss at times and at idle.Idles very fast when first start,then will slow down,but still fast.plugs new,wires ok.can't find vacuum leak.

Is the check engine light coming on at all? Have the computer checked for codes and post them (numbers only) here is any.

I do not have the numbers.Was told by mech.they indicated lean,and yes the check engine light comes on but does go off occasionally.

That is lean on bank 2 only. Vacuum leaks will usually set codes for both sides so the 0/2 needs to be checked out to make sure it's not lazy.

Think this is my old post.As for now I have no codes,had 2 dealers look at fast idle.They both say recalibration of computer, not necessary because latest calibration is what I have.Replaced idle air,throttle position sensor,no vacuum leaks.2000 ford ranger 3.0 flex fuel.

Did the dealer try to figure out why the engine was idling fast? What is the idling rpm? What happens to the idling speed when you disconnect the idle air control motor's electrical connector while the engine is running?
