When it doesn't want to start is spark missing? Have you checked all your electrical harnesses and connectors for damage or water intrusion? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Scan for codes ESP if the cel is off. If you see a spark when spraying wires that is a problem .... spark is checked at PLUGS several plugs- always AC Delco plugs, first checl if coil is firing then ck several plugs.

You also want to see how strong the spark is when testing. It should be able to jump a 3/4" gap. Look closely for any carbon tracking on the coil. They tend to crack and arc to the mounting bolts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Suspecting the same thing as HT here. If you don't want to have to wait for it to rain there is an easy way to check this. Mix up a spray bottle with salt water in it. Salt water carries electricity better than regular water and will show issues faster. Get things good and dark in the area you are working in. Start the engine and start spraying the water around the coil and cap area. Look for arcing from the coil housing to ground. Should get a spark that is visible and a noticeable change in engine pitch when you hit the bad spot.
