Engine seems to cut out when I'm accelerating and the tach bounces up and down. Always seems to run fine in the mornings when the engine is still cold but after 10-15 miles of driving it starts to cut out. Had an O2 sensor replaced a few years back and can't remember exactly but I feel like it started as a similar issue. But from what I remember of that it was like there was no power at all when accelerating. Could this possibly be another sensor problem, bad plugs or wires, or catalytic converter or am I way off with any of these guesses?

Forget what happened a few years back it's what's happening now. You can still get codes from this to help narrow it down. It can run fine cold if you say so. By "cut out" do you mean engine stalls, runs rough, misfires? Tach jumping only when this happens? T

The tach only jumps when it's doing this. I would say it's almost like it misfires. Had an old Chevy pickup that would miss from time to time and it feels similar. But that was an old carburated motor. Not sure if it's the same situation with a fuel injected motor. Bad injectors or something along those lines maybe? Haven't looked at the plugs themselves but all the wires are in good shape. The plugs themselves are in hard to reach spots without having the right ratchet and extensions.

Try unplugging the MAF and see if it runs better. It will set a code when you do that so don't panic about that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Unplugged the MAF last night and it ran really crappy. Plugged it back in and drove 30 miles with no troubles. Started up this morning and drove 15 miles and it cutout a couple times and the check engine light came on but never had any problems after that. Does this mean problems with the MAF censor or just a computer error code type of fix?

It could mean that. The fact that things changed when it was disturbed could mean the sensor is the issue but nothing is confirmed.
