So just bought this CRX and had a couple of problems to fix.

We found the Tachometer wire (blue) and the Ignition wire (Black and Yellow). The wires had been sitting on a piece of metal that got hot when the car ran so the wires were slowly getting eaten away, we could see the copper barely, most of it ate away. So we ended up cutting both wires down the middle and spliced them together. Well the car ended up not turning over and it just almost turns over but it just wont. We re-spliced them again and it still didn't turn over. Could it just be the wire or could there be something else? I've checked all the spark plugs and the distributor thinking for some crazy reason the car wont start because while splicing the parts went bad but they are all still new/good.

Thanks again.

Ugg? You saw the problem and cut the wires.
Just have to ask first if car was running OK before you touched it? If so It's your way to splice didn't work so well or caused harm? That or in not running and found this why did it take going on 32 years for wires to be where they could get hot and burn like that?

In short more to discover here what came first like engine mounts allow too much movement or wires had been lost out of loom and how they are held in place out of harm's way just age now even 1/3rd this.

Check for spark at a plug and while out check for compression on at least two cylinders if ridiculously low compression if it has spark we need to know if valve timing is lost. Tool old right now for me to look this thing up just wait to hear more from you,

You connected power directly to the trigger circuit so God knows what damage you have done now. I would suspect at the very least you have burned out the igniter, possibly more.

Check all your fuses before doing anything. Then test for spark which I suspect you do not have.
