service Re Sign In

hi there everyone it's a 2001 civic the service required light is on, is it like the check engine light can I use the OBD code reader to find the problem.

There's OBDI and OBDII. A 2001 is OBDII. More places are doing code reading for free if you don't have the OBDII,

No, that's just an oil change reminder light.



  1. Turn off the engine.
  2. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON
  3. Hold the button until the indicator resets (approximately ten seconds).

If that is in fact a reminder light don't you have to reset it after you've changed oil? - T
