Re: Key stuck in ignition switch Sign In

The transponder didn't cause the switch to lock up. Chances are the issue is in the lock itself and that would lead to the theft deterrent failure.

The P1629 means the engine computer didn't get the fuel enable password from the theft deterent control module when the ignition was on.

Can you rotate the lock cylinder in any direction?

Re: Key stuck in ignition switch Sign In

If you have a capable scan tool, check the other controllers (besides the PCM) for “U” codes. Check the messaging status of the controllers, do they ”see” the PCM?
1. Using the scanner go to Output Tests in the Dash Integration Module (DIM). Select "Park Key Lock Relay". Command the solenoid on.

2. Check for key release. Use the scanner to "Ping" the modules. Identify the module that will not respond.

3. If the ECM does not respond to the ping it is still possible to communicate with it over the CAN Bus. Disconnect the PCM.

4. Identify the Purple wire at pin 48 on connector C2. Establish communications with the DIM. Using a suitable jumper short the Purple wire to ground. The scanner should go to "No Communications".

5. If it does verify power supplies to the ECM. If OK, verify the ground strap is providing a good ground for the ECM.

6. If OK replace the ECM.

Re: Key stuck in ignition switch Sign In

Quick read - sorry. If you can't move or remove the key why are you messing with anything else until you can and that problem may require a new lock cylinder and subsequent reprogramming then if a no go take it from there,
