FIXED! At least for the moment. But I have serious doubts about the what the real problem actually is. I took my car to two more mechanics, and in the end we decided to change both the cam and crankshaft sensors. It appears to work. The question is: Is it normal for the sensors to fail within two years from the first change? The mechanic that did the repair reckons that it isn't the timing chain at all, that if the sensors fail again it is likely that the central computer needs replacing as there is probably something wrong with it and that is what causes the sensors to fail. They have checked it all with their diagnosis computers and haven't found any evidence about that though. All I can do is wait and see. Cheers!
