Common faults for engine light

Have Mercedes C250 diesel W205 2014
Engine diagnostic light showing, mechanic tried to clear code unable to do so.
Car has only travelled 28000Kms
Vehicle is running fine with no apparent problems
What are the common faults with this light showing?
Appreciate your experiences. Thanks

There are over probably 300 possible stored trouble codes that all have a different meanings. You can forget trying to diagnose this issue this way. You need to have the codes scanned and they will give you enough info for a starting in diagnosis.
