Dealer says I need a fuel tank pressure sensor. Is that inside the gas tank or on the fuel line?

What is the difference between a "genuine GM catyletic converter for $473.80 and a 39.95 universal one????

I didn't know any catalytic converter could be $39.00!!!! The metals used cost more than that. The difference would be how long it lasted. What was the low price for a used one? It's illegal where I live to sell them used!

Prices of parts will vary and you should know what you are getting, T

The fuel tank pressure sensor is found at the top of the fuel tank and is attached to the fuel tank sending unit. The fuel tank sending unit contains the fuel gauge sending unit, fuel pump, accompanying lines and brackets along with the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor and the fuel gauge sending unit are serviceable without changing the assembly; when the fuel pump is needed you must/should buy the assembly as a complete module. The fuel tank in most incidences needs to be removed to gain access to the assembly.
As for the comparison of OEM converters and after market the only thing that makes after market so appealing is their price. They are in my opinion very inferior. In a perfect world using nothing other then theory the after market converters should work. Where in the world have we ever found something that works perfectly all the time; especially the automotive industry?
Look at it this way if today’s automobile manufactures thought they could get away with putting in less of the precious metals (Platinum, Rhodium and Palladium) in their converters wouldn’t they do it; if they thought the converter would work reliably?
On a side note; converter don’t die they are murdered; find the cause of the original converters death before you replace it.
