92 Seville rough idle and surges while driven

92 Cadillac Seville Base Model, 4.9 Olds V8, 70,000 miles. My 92 Cadillac ran fine for a long time, then suddenly started severe pinging. I ended-up replacing the EGR and it's electronic actuator. That solved the problem of pinging and the car has ran fine since doing that about 3 months ago. Two days ago, the car suddenly produced symptoms of rough idle, intermittant power loss (surging) while driving, and a fuel smell from the engine area. I checked the OBD and it displayed History codes: EO32, and EO71. Then it displayed Current code: IO39. I can't seem to understand why its listing History codes which may be related to the current running condition (Problems with MAP Sensor) and a current code related to the suspension. Nothing has changed with the suspension since replacing the stock struts a few years ago with passive shocks. Should I replace the MAP Sensor? I find no vaccuum leaks and nothing is observed while visually inspecting the car and engine. I do notice that when the car is idling rough, it makes no difference to unplug the EGR Actuator, but if I remove vaccuum to the MAP Sensor, the car wants to die immediately. Maybe I got a bad EGR controller or could the MAP be a more likely suspect? Thanks in advance for your help. Tom
