2004 dodge caravan hesitates below 30mph

2004 Dodge Caravan w/ almost 100,000 miles.
Headlights stopped working for about a week then began working again. Not related to bulbs. Drivers side window won't roll back up. Check engine light came on and will go off without warning. When it's on the engine will hesitate (rock the car) under 30mph.
EGR system fault
ECM has detected the EGR position sensor voltage was too high
probable cause:
1. Failed EGR position sensor
2open or short circuit condition
3 Failed EGR va;ve
4 Failed egr pressure sensor where app.
5 failed egr position sensor where app.
Thsi is our only vehicle and my husband is an Army drill sgt so there is NO ONE to watch the kids or drive my home when the car is in the shop. I thought I'd seek advice to save time.

It sounds like the EGR valve is intermittantly staying open at lower engine RPM when it shouldn't be. Although it could be a bad EGR, It's more likely that the engine has a carbon buildup and chunks of carbon are getting caught under the EGR pintle not allowing it to close all the way.
The best way to determine this is wait until the problem occurs and removed the EGR valve for inspection and you will see if any carbon is caught in it. You could do an induction cleaning on the engine and that may help break away some of the carbon buildup.
The one good thing is that if you replace the EGR valve, it is sold as a complete unit with the pressure sensor and position sensor attached.
