window switch drain on battery? Sign In

Hi,

My mom's driver's door window went out. I got a cheap switch off of ebay and now the driver's window works even when the keys are not in and there is a little indicator light that says "auto" that is always on. I have left the switch connected overnight with that indicator light on and the car started fine. Is there much danger in draining the battery? I assume the wire was always hot but the actual Honda switch prevented the light from coming on? A new Honda switch is $230 so i just assume leave the cheap one in unless it is harmful to the battery.

thanks

You have the wrong switch and it should be changed.

remove the problematic switch. First secure the window UP.
Do the math as to repair cost... I never open the window - drive thru maybe- search online for the needed part might do better than 200$

do you have the old unit?
