My 2003 Nissan Pathfinder LE auto 4 wheel Dr, the abs light came on then the 4 wheel drive light came on and locked out my selector switch so I can not switch it into 4 wheel unless I fix the ABS wheel sensor which I checked and its opened and has to be replaced, its to cold with snow now , so if I pull the ABS relay or fuse under the hood will my 4 wheel selector work now without the abs which I'm not concerned about now until after the weather gets warmer. ? thank you Ron -Personal info deleted

Not likely. I'm not to familiar with the Nissan's system; but the 4 wheel controller likely needs to see wheel speed for it to operate. If it's to cold for you to do this on your own you may need to have someone do the repair for you. Dan. Canadian "EH"

If the old sensor is bad, why would it matter if it got broken during removal? Or do you mean you are worried about it getting part of it stuck in there that you have to remove? If that is the case, why not get a heat gun, hair dryer or small propane torch to gently warm the area up just before you go to pull it out. Then hit it with some penetrating oil and work it out gently. We've all had the fun of trying to get old sensors out, and some days it still breaks even in a heated shop. Murphy's law I guess. Let us know how you make out on this and good luck.
