problem with right rear blinker Sign In

Hi, I know very little about cars and I am basically just coming here for help. Hopefully I don't sound like too much of an idiot. Unsure

I drive a 2001 PT Cruiser (embarrassing, but it was passed down to me)

I cannot get my right rear blinker to function. I have changed the bulbs before with no problems, so I know that's not the problem, and whenever I had my oil changed they changed the light and sent me on my way without it working.

I think it definitely has something to do with the wiring or the fuse. One symptom that leads me to believe this, is that once it stopped functioning originally the right blinker light in the car began blinking two or three times faster than normal.

I suppose I could take it in somewhere, but would much rather fix it myself. I am not a big car person but I am mechanically minded and familiar with electronics to an extent. I've searched for a while on the internet, but have not been able to find an answer. If anyone could give me some advice or point me in the right direction it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance! Smile

twotone; Using a test light, check for power and ground at the socket. Examine the socket, itself. Are the contacts in good repair? It is not uncommon to have to replace them.
