Probably the sender in the tank. If everything else is fine let it go a while and see if it doesn't straighten itself out, T

If the sending unit checks out ok and your light still remains on than something is giving it 12v all the time (short, improper ground out) follow the wiring in open areas where damage would be apparent, look for wires rubbing against metal dash frame and body flanges etc.If you don't find anything from there it's time to get the multi meter out.

I should have said that the light will have varying degrees of brightness, but not flickering.

The dealer is sending the car to an auto electric shop. I'll let you all know when it is done.

Hey davis2,

Let us all know what solved this. It's hard to do online repairs but we try. for that matter it's hard to find and fix some problems with the car in front of you. You may know that your fix could be searched out by others with the same problem and could help techs and customers alike, Good luck with the fix, T
