Hello All! I have a 2003 Ford Taurus. Originally the cigarette lighter and the power outlet were not working and I have replaced the fuse and the power outlet, and they are still not working, what could cause the problem? Stupid enough, after I reassembled the dashboard, the a/c control started not working properly. It is either off/defrost vent. Even in this morning it works perfectly. Would this be a bad contact issue or a vacuum problem? Is there any DIY-possible remedy that I can try (as I just poured out money to fix the wheel hub bearings.) one last really really dumb question, what could I do to remove the radio if one of the brackets is broken? Going behind the dashboard? Thank you so much in advance...

The cigar lighter and the power point socket are protected by different fuses. Fuse 18 in the fuse box under the hood is for the cigar lighter Fuse 13 in the fuse panel in the dash is for the power point Did you check for power on the back side of the sockets? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Whoops, I only checked Fuse 13 and the power point (which is a pair, and that doesn't work), not the fuse 18. And I did try probing the wire before trying installing the new socket, and it was 0V still.
