electric door lock not working Sign In

2010 F150

Rear left door lock does not work with the switch. All three other doors work fine. Replaced lock actuator, but no change. Panel constantly reads "rear left door ajar". What to look at next?

You can test an actuator and know it's good or bad too bad you did that. Door Ajar is usually at the latch inside is probably the source problem on a Left Rear door sometimes the least used you would know.
If the door thinks it's open or part open and also equipped to know which door is ajar it's too likely that it wouldn't lock it then.
To do for you: Does it lock, latch and line up properly now? Was anything else that you know of done to that door?
Last for a low use door is wiring thru door jam of that one near always a driver's door but that shouldn't be the door ajar also so go looking for inside how that latch looks always difficult - any vehicle. Look for the switch and wires to it for door ajar and go from there,

The way these locks are controlled are driver's only or all locks so if the other doors are unlocking, then that one is supposed to also. there are no individual controls for rear doors.

You need to test for power and ground arriving at the door to eliminate a wiring issue. Other than that, it has to be an issue with the latch and actuator which are both incorporated into the latch.
