So I'm working on my elderly fathers 2010 hyundai elantra. It's stuck in park, I have replaced the following: Nss Shift cable Brake light switch Ignition switch Shifter assembly The fluid is clean and at level Checked all the fuses Next I figured the shaft might be frozen so I tried spraying with multiple different chemicals to loosen it....still nothing. This happen out of nowhere, normally I don't throw parts at a car, but I live hours away so it's tough for me to get there. He no money for a new car nor a tranny tech. So any help would be awesome! I'm driving there now.

Now that you've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at it, it's time to do some testing. There are multiple components involved in this circuit including 5 fuses, a solenoid, a neutral safety switch and a control module. The first step is always test all the fuses using a testlight with the key on. Then find out if the solenoid actually works. It receive constant power and is triggered by a ground supplied by the module. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
