Trailer wiring dillema. Sign In

Hello all!
I've owned a small trailer for 2 years that I use to transport lawn maintenance equipment. 2 weeks ago, when connecting the lights, the trailer brake lights came on independent of the vehicle and the blinkers on the trailer were non responsive. My neighbor gave me a 7-4 adaptor that he didn't need, and using that fixed the problem. Monday, the problem returned and spraying all connectors with contact cleaner fixed the problem. The problem returned the next day and the contact cleaner worked again. Now, the contact cleaner no longer fixes the problem.

Any ideas?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers!

It's not uncommon to have to replace the whole trailer wiring every few years, especially if they see any salt exposure. Wires get rubbed through and sockets and connectors corrode.

Ditto: OMG fought with many, utility, boat and more boats submerged worse that this. If trailer tilts or lights on a moving rear gate that's most likely.
I spent too much time now seeing whole sets of flat four standard wiring either ready to string along or magnetic was cheaper than bulbs about now. For full legal I would toss it all just the real legal will have side lights showing amber and mid-way if some length IDK AND a light over the license plate one rearmost light will have a hole or lens in the bottom and plate mount you should be like that now,

Thanks, guys. It looks like I'm spending this morning lying in the gravel. LOL
