Theft Light in My 2000 Ford Taurus Sign In

My 2000 Ford Taurus, with a 24v 3.0, will not start. The Theft light flashes rapidly when I turn the key to start and the radio doesn't turn on. I have been told by family that the car has a grounding issue, so I started checking wires, cleaning posts, and I put in a new battery. Nothing... Any help??

You can try two options here:

Resetting the factory alarm that has a built in kill switch.
1) Open driver's door
2) Insert key and turn to on position
3) For exactly 10 minutes leave it like that
4) After the 10 minutes turn the key off and close the driver's door
5) Try and start the car normally.

You can also try to reset the computer (But I think the reset will work) and if you changed the battery this may have been reset anyway.
1) Disconnect the NEGATIVE side First
2) Then disconnect the positive side of the battery for a minute or two
3) Reconnect the battery and make sure both positive and negative side of the connections are tight and clean.
4) Making sure to Connect the NEGATIVE side last.

First, make sure your using a PATS key. If it is non PATS, the engine will not start.

If it is PATs and you have a spare PATS key, try that one and see what happens.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
