Still have dtc code p0403 after changing parts. Sign In

I have a 2003 FORD ESCAPE XLT v6 3.0 I had previously had cel come on and my reader told me both oxygen sensors downstream were bad, Not finding it likely to have both downstream sensors go out at same time, I made the assumption there was more to it, I took to shop and explained to them I had recently changed my alternator , They insisted it had no bearing(maybe cause im a female they thought I had no clue) but I insisted it was, I knew there was a possibility I had not pushed the wires back and they were melted. Upon inspection the repair declared I was right . Fixed the wiring , No more O2 sensor codes. But 1 other code remained. P0403. I replaced vacuum solenoid and DPFE sensor still have same code. Replaced with ford genuine parts and still again same code, I truly believe it to is a wiring issue. I do not know a whole lot about working on cars But I will always give it a try. So here is what I am trying to do, I have bought the actron multimeter and would like to attempt to check the wiring, I have the steps from alldata, Problem is I am a little confused as it shows no images. It says to check voltage at eegr harness connector between vpwr and battery. So this connector has to holes, I know where - battery terminal is, But which side of eegr connector do I stick the positive probe? Also is there a reference I can look at to compare what my short fuel trim and other freeze frame data should be at. I have freeze frame data but unsure how to interpret it If anyone has clear instructions on this I would greatly appreciate it

OK, those tests and diagrams are for an electronic EGR and apparently you have a vacuum system. That 2 wire connector is the vacuum solenoid, not the EGR valve. You need to go to the tests for the vacuum EGR system.
