Replacing electric wing mirror, connector mismatch. Sign In

Hello all, I hope you can help me.

I had a broken wing mirror on my old first edition Citroen Picasso. I went to the breakers yard and they only had one left, so I took it. Everything appears identical except that the connectors are different, and the new one (on the left) has more wires!

It's not easy to see, but the 'new' replacement one has 7 wires, 2 brown, 2 red, 1 grey, 1 blue and 1 green. The old one only has 5, 2 brown, 1 green, 1 red and 1 blue.

So I figured I could take off the old connector and put it on the new one, but the question is, how do I map the 7 wires onto the 5?

Thanks in advance.

I should probably add that the wing mirrors are both motorized and heated, if that helps anyone understand what they wires might be responsible for.

Sorry, but this a states based forum and that car isn't sold here. We don't have access to service information to identify which wire is which. You'll need to figure out what wire is what on both vehicles using a wiring schematic for both years. Then you can figure out which wires you can connect together.

It really appears that you have the wrong mirror. The features from the 2 cars are different and i doubt it will ever work.

If it fits and is driver's side just install it without wiring or plugging it in so you have a mirror unless somehow required (doubt it) that it do anything more it should adjust just by pushing on the glass.

I can't know as DS already said they don't sell this car where most of us are. The newer of them may have a directional added in glass or sidemarker light?

Is this also supposed to pull itself in electrically on some of these?

You said old for your car so think unless you are real fussy to get a new exact one just put it on if it fits properly and legal for where you are and should be as newer usually has more requirements than the older. If you really care and this was cheap it buys you time to find the exact right one,
