Please Help, Trying to wire in my stereo?

Hi All,

I have a Ford Maverick 4x4 (UK), Also known as the Nissan Patrol. Its 1997.

I removed the stereo to install a new one but i dont know what any of the wires are :( Can anyone help I can't find a diagram anywhere?

Oh NO! 1 - this car not sold here where most regulars are so lost mostly. Check with a local stereo place or get an OE pigtail as that sure looks all hacked up pretty bad.


Once you have OE connector you should easily be able to get a plug in adaptor AKA interface and skip all the headaches for what goes where to new unit by brand. Local stereo for you might be a best stop if only for parts or suggestions. Used same color pigtail would likely be in order to do this right and doubt new available?

I don't know which wires are power and which are speakers? so confused lol! Born Blonde! Thank you for your help. Also the new stereo doesnt have plugs, just wires? :)

Did you cut the wires? Do you have the plug to an OE stereo? What I'm talking about is you use that and get the specific adaptor for the unit you bought not mess up wiring that came with the car. Some of the adaptors will tell you which color to PROPERLY attach and splice in as needed so you end up with proper for both new unit and OE wiring.


If making this a earthquake maker you are on your own as in some wild super sound system all altered,
