Is there an easy to find a open or short circuit? Sign In

I have a 1986 Mazda B2000 Truck with 100,000 miles, with a short circuit.

I have a good idea what line the open or short circuit is on. Locating the problem is a challenge because the wire is in a harness with other wires.

1) Is there an easy way to find an open or short circuit?

2) I've seen short circuit finders by various manufacturers. Does anyone have any experience with a short circuit finder?
A) Do they work well
B) What features should I look for if I get one?
C)Do you have any other advice, suggestions, etc: type, manufacturer, model etc?

Thank-you in advance,
Charlie

Charlie:

Why not just say what isn't working and we can go from there. There's no magic wand to find which wire in a cluster of wires may or may not be shorted or open. If you know which item isn't working you can chase that wire for the problem,
