I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 where the taillights work but the rear turn signals and brake lights do not. Everything up front and the center brake light work. When I hook up my boat trailer all its lights and signals work perfectly. What's up?

Is trailer wiring a plug waiting for use for a trailer or wired in by the seat of someone's pants and guessing? It will matter. Many trucks come with a plug in wait for an adaptor for you particular trailer wiring set up and if so should be using that,

It's the 4 pin that came from the factory

OK - have to take your word for that. I didn't think OE wiring had just the four pin in wait. It just might be a well done tap into existing lighting job that over stressed what the truck alone would need?

At a loss - would be checking for brake light switch at pedal and see how many wires it has and see if by test light that an flasher either common or otherwise is sending out power or anything visible to see stressed with those,

Has this been diagnosed yet?

Do you have an enhanced scan tool that can access the TIPM to check for trouble codes and to look at data stream information?

Do you have a wiring schematic, DVOM, 12 test light, power probe, etc. to test the turn and brake circuits with?

Trailer lighting system is on separate circuits than the vehicle's rear lighting after the TIPM.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I don't have anything beyond a voltmeter. Looks like I have power all the way to the rear fixtures.
