ok, I have a 94 ford mustang. the wipers only shut off when i turn the car off. the intermittent part don't work but the wipers can go faster but mostly it's just a non-stop back & forth. I disconnected the switch to the motor and they didn't work so according to the manual the multi-function switch should have been bad. I replaced that (that was interesting but at least nothing blew up lol) well it didn't solve the problem. so i'm thinking the wiper motor itself. do you think it's the motor or is there something i'm missing that I could try?? The kid at the gas station suggested I run a toggle switch from the fuse box just to turn them off or on to get by on till I replace the motor. He said it would only cost me about $10. Since I already forked out $80 for the multi-function switch and now a motor is looking at another $80-$200 for new wiper motor ( the ford place said I would be better off with a new motor) I was thinking maybe I should try the kids idea with the toggle but I'm not sure the best way to go about doing that. any ideas or suggestions???

Replace the wiper delay module.

But, I'm not sure I'm understanding what your saying, the book doesn't have the delay separate it just has replace motor. so i guess my question would be is the delay part of the motor and where would i find a diagram of the motor itself so I know what part I would be replacing?? Since they sale rebuilt wiper motors would a place like schucks or autozone have a machine to test the motor if I took it off the vehicle so I could fix that? Thanks again for your input-

Most of the Fords I've worked on put the wiper delay module behind the glove box. You should be able to hear it clicking as you turn the intermittent wiper switch to the different settings.
