Ford econoline 1981 with 200 000 miles Solenoide bypass Sign In

Hey ! when i turn the key on my old ford econoline, nothing happens. No ignition (dash lights,wipper- nothing turns on) and the car won't crank. My starter and battery are good since i can jump start the solenoide with a screwdriver and the van starts fine (includin wipper and all). What can i do to fix it ? i'd like to start the car with a key again ! thanks a lot

Most likely either ignition switch or Neutral safety switch.

? Real Fords (this is) in most of the 60s, 70s, 80s into 90s at least solenoids on a fender under hood had one trigger wire that just pushed on, friction made the contact. If you move or keep taking those on and off they wear out no connection. New or used can put another there even ones with two small post should be marked "S" and "R" don't use the "R" was for engines with points still work on ones without.
IDK how available if that but I used to leave those loose on purpose (certain reasons) or put a fake on as a theft control (once had to park in horrible places short term) worked or wasn't necessary.

Point - it's a weak spot so check that again. It's OK to replace or use threaded post there put an eyelet on it properly spliced and a nut.
Lots of fixable stuff on this without wild antics if you just want to use it with less hassle,

I don't know how you came to that conclusion. The only way to know that is to test for power coming out of it in "start" position.

Again - FORD the solenoid you can find - follow battery positive cable the only or removable small wire (trigger wire) would light up with key turned to "start" by a helper.

If not say so we can suggest other things the would do that. One for now -- see if it starts in gear or nudging shifter especially from "N" BUT OMG BE READY IT MIGHT START UP IN A GEAR! Best is raise rear wheels off the ground/surface for that - be safe no run-a-way vans please,

Th solenoid is the final destination of the trigger wire from the ignition switch after it passes through the neutral switch. There is a fusible link that powers the ignition switch. If the dash is lighting up, that should mean the fusible link is good. It's pretty much a given that no power is arriving at the solenoid so what has to be determined is at what point it is losing it. You can test at the in and the out of the neutral switch to determine that.
I think the wire is yellow coming from the ignition switch.

Another already said am asking if this trigger wire now is the push on one or nut on a stud at solenoid? The push on ones I've done 100s if power but no trigger attached squeeze that with wire crimper for "scotch lock" wiring a little till tight again or lots better.

If not good but tested with power splice in a new end I think about all were threaded to use a nut use an eyelet end this time,

It's on the side of the transmission.
I can't find a wiring diagram to give you wiring color codes.
