Engine Start After Fire- 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 6 cyl. 70K miles Sign In

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a 4.0L 6 cyl. engine that had a electrical fire that started in the passenger compartment. The inside of the Jeep was destroyed by fire and the Fire fighters filling the Jeep with water ( in the middle of winter). Everything on the engine side of the firewall was okay though. My question is : Is there a simpler way to wire this engine to run with out having to connect all the wires from the powertrain control module (computer) and all the sensors, instrument panel etc... I was hoping to just hook up the minimum to show the engine works before I pull it out. I already figured I need fuel pump, starter, battery, coils, and fuel injection or am I stuck making up a new interior fuse block and wiring everything to that? Thanks

Just take that truck to the crusher. It is never going to see the road again. The water alone would have totaled it.

I don't need to let it see the road. The engine is in good shape as is the transmission, transfer case and all body parts. I bought this jeep to part out as I have done with others. The only difference with this one is the fire damage. Why crush good parts that other people can use?

It's never going to run in that vehicle.

Sounds like you just want to part it out, so instead of trying to make it run for a potential buyer why not do a compression test? Pop the plugs out, rig a jumper cable to the starter and hold the throttle wide open. Run the c-test and write down the results. Include a pic of the jeep so the buyer knows it did run until the fire and you should be able to sell the drivetrain parts easily. You aren't going to be able to run this engine without a PCM. It is impossible. But you can use the compression numbers to show a buyer that it is a healthy engine.
