Electric pass door window/lock no longer work after remove driver door Sign In

I own a 1998 Plymouth Neon. It has electric locks and windows for only the front doors of the car.

The driver door frame around the lock got ripped, so i had to go to the junk yard to pull a new door. This new door is manual lock/window. Which i do not care about. The first thing i did is disconnect the battery before snipping the wires. After putting in the new door i put in the connector from the junk yard car. So there are NO loose wires floating inside around anywhere. These wires stop at the connection, which now only has the two wires for the door speaker coming out.

After swapping the door, i realized that the passenger door locks/window no longer work. I checked the fuses and the window/lock fuse is not burnt out.

So i am at a loss of why the passenger door auto window/locks no longer work after swapping the driver door?

Did you unplug the damaged door and still have it even if trashed? IDK - easy thing would be to plug it in to swapped over harness and just leave lock and window power tied away unused in the WRONG door.

Yes it can be figured out depending on how messed up wiring and switches for original driver's door are. Too late at the moment but would have waited for he correct door,

The passenger door gets it's power and ground from the driver's door. You can't just go cutting wires these days. There are 2 switches for the passenger door and they both need to be in the circuit.

As HT said, driver's door rules the show.

Idea: Wherever you got that door maybe if this car is destined to be a hack job get the other manual door as well and trade in your good (if good) remaining door?

Best bet would be take that door back and go get the correct one,

Re: Electric pass door window/lock no longer work after remove driver door Sign In

I didnt unplug the damaged door when cutting the wires. I removed the harness after that process. I do have the connection to the car, however i gave my door to the junk yard to get back a core charge. So i no longer have the door. If i knew that the driver door circuit needed to be complete for the passenger door to work i would of had it set up hanging next to this new door.

Now because i no longer have the old door, switches, etc. but i do have the connection with all the wires that i cut. Is there a way to connect these wires to complete the circuit?

I kept this connection
http://i.imgur.com/pYRx2Cv.jpg
from the original door. Is there a way to connect these wires to complete at least the window circuit. I do not care about the door lock circuit, or electric mirror circuit? If so what color wires to splice together? Do i have to have the switches from the door to complete the circuit?
The wire colors are:
purple w/ white stripe
red w/ orange stripe
white w/ yellow stripe
green w/ dark green stripe (2 of these)
solid pink
pink w/ black stripe
solid yellow
brown w/ white stripe (larger wire)
pink w/ purple stripe
solid dark green
solid black (larger wire)
white w/ black stripe (2 of these)
orange w/ purple stripe
orange w/ black stripe
black w/ red stripe
solid peach (larger wire)
purple w/ white stripe (larger wire)

There are 4 larger gauge wires. So i am assuming one of these are the power feed and neutral? I am not sure if this is the only thing though?

I am going to at least try to hack this to work. I just dont want to start a fire or something guessing which wire goes to what to try to complete this circuit for the pass window.

PS I got the door 50% off day at the junk yard for 25 bucks. They had only this door left of a drivers side that would fit my car. I would much rather pay 25 for a manual door than pay the company or other junk yard for more money. IT is a beater car, but runs good. I dont care that i have the incorrect door. It is just for comfort to roll down the passenger window due to such heat in the summer.

Also thank you guys for responding. I never came across the idea that the driver door was so important in the circuits of the car.

I found wiring diagrams to this car, however its always to a section not for the door.

EDIT:
I found this
link deleted ............. not allowed
but it only shows the colors of the lock/unlock, not the windows.

Take the violet/white(larger), the brown/white, and the brown/violet (maybe black/violet if you cut after the splice) and connected them all together. That will provide a ground for the passenger window switch, so the motor will operate. MAKE sure the tan wire is secure and taped up. That wire is hot.

I do not see a brown/violet or a black/violet wire. The only other larger guage wires after violet/white, the brown/white is the solid tan (which i called peach) and solid black wire. I am assuming that they should all be the larger guage wires?

Even on the smaller gauge wires i do not see a brown/violet or a black/violet wire though.

The wires your dealing with are going to be the larger wires. The tan wire is the power feed for the master switch and the passenger switch. Don't connect the tan wire to anything and make sure it is taped up.
