Electric Windows Sign In

We have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata and are having problems with the passenger side front window. Neither the button on the drivers side or passenger side works, we can't get the window to go up or down. Hopefully someone has a suggestion on what the problem might be. Is there anything that I can check before I have to take it in for service.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Joe

Re: Electric Windows Sign In

Here's a quick trick that might help before you need to dig into it more. Try this................
Put key to on or acc. such that windows work without engine running. Then turn on interior light, better if a bit dark and look at the lights (dome seems best) while requesting up or down with the buttons. If lights dim a bit and window does not move it strongly suggest it's getting power and ground and motor is shot. If no change more to do.

If so take that door panel off and test for alternating bat+ and bat- (neg-) at the last plug to the motor. If that doesn't (won't if lights didn't dim some) do alternating power and ground motor is likely. Some a pest for just motor and many better with a whole regulator and motor all at once. Lots of these are riveted in so you need rivet tool that fits. That could be a snag as many are larger than common rivets you might have used and another size tool that is costly.
If none of that is showing the issue you need to see where the power and grounds drop out. Driver's controls rule the show would be a place to begin testing,
