EL Neon Glow wire powering questions

I am really trying to figure out how I can separate EL neon glow wire to go around smaller areas of the dash and the door underneath the longer run that is still connected to the power converting source, which starts out being from a cigarette lighter input. But, I cannot find information anywhere on how to do that and really would like to know how. Can anyone tell me how I can do that and make it easy to understand? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! It is for a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle 2004 GLS Hatchback.
