Dim headlights and dash Sign In

Hello. I haven't posted in a while but have always got great advice on this sight. I have a 1978 Grand Marquis and the dash lights and headlights seem dim. Over the winter my battery went dead. I charged it up and had the alternator and battery checked by an auto parts store. They checked fine. The battery connections are tight and corrosion free. Any idea what could be wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!!!!!

Check the voltage at the headlight. Also look inside the headlight plug. They weren't sealed up from weather back then and the spade connectors can get corroded up enough that they work but are dim.

? Dash lights too? Check voltage while running along with headlight connections and other battery connections. I think this has a voltage regulator that might be on firewall for alternator - check the plug to it especially since alternator checked fine. Fiddle with headlight knob too both on and off and the dimming feature for dash lights as those get a dull or dead spot sometimes.

It's old, think WD-40 on all these things and don't forget door hinges, lock and latches everywhere even the glove box all are a pain to find dinky little junk that breaks for the sake of a little lube now and then,
