Dashboard and tail lights not working Sign In

Hello, I have a 1998 Toyota rav4 the tail lights and dashboard lights aren't working. All other lights work. The headlights, brake lights, Hazard, interior and turn signals all work fine. The radio works fine as well as clock light and cigarette lighter work. I replaced my 15amp fuse as well as put brand new tail light bulbs. The 15amp fuse keeps popping. I took out tail light bulbs and tried turning the lights on but fuse still popped. Have not got into an accident or replaced the radio. Don't know what to try next. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

Something on that circuit is shorted and someone is going to have to track it down. That may not be easy.

? Tail lights ? You mean the dimmer running lights or brake lights? Some vehicles will (or did) put both brake lights and dash lighting on same fuse so you knew they were not working as you wouldn't notice. If so - brake light switch or the sockets probably or possibly unseen in behind what you see with bulbs out?
Some - Trailer wiring after market doesn't hold up well back there either if that was ever done a trouble spot.

If running light blow a fuse those are front, rear and or sides should all be suspect usually sockets gone bad,
